Tuesday Tidbit: Happy New Year!

What?  New Year’s?  That’s not for another three weeks!

That’s true… unless you follow the Islamic calendar.  If that’s the case, then Al-Hijra, the new year, is today, December 7!

The Islamic New Year marks the day of the Hijra, when Muhammad left Mecca and went to Medina, which became the first Islamic state, a nation united by their religion instead of their tribe.
